We attempted to analyze a model that connects information on KAKENHI (Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research) projects with patent and scientific article information and predicts future research performance, based on current and past information. For researchers who received the KAKENHI project between 2000 and 2009, we utilize a machine learning method to predict the top 10% of KAKENHI budget from 2010 to 2019 based on the status of research projects up to 2009, the number of collaborative researchers, and patent/paper information.
